In this talk, we will present the current Java VM offerings from Oracle and how these map into the Continua Device Standards. We will discuss features and characteristics of each as it relates to Medical Devices and discuss where possible future requirements and roadmap for various Java VM offerings.
Member of the Orange e-Health Innovation team since two years; my role is more focus on the standardization aspects to make specifications for different Orange projects (on e-health data collect, images exchange, …).
Michael manages and coordinates Continua's European Policy Working Group as well as Continua's project and outreach activities in Europe. Before joining Continua in January 2010, Michael served in various management and communications functions for health-related associations, including serving as European Director of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Between 1996 and 2006 he worked in the philanthropic and social development field in Belgium, Germany and the United States.
MSc in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Malaga. He has been involved in Continua Health Alliance activities since 2008, mainly collaborating in Test and Certification Working Group and also resolving specifications errata in IEEE Personal Health Devices Working Group. He is the Project Manager for Continua Test Tool development. His background in Continua standards has helped him to become one of the first persons recognized as Continua Certification Expert (CCE) by Continua Health Alliance.

In the past, he has been working with W3C Mobile Web Initiative, and as project and product manager in CTIC research center focused on mobile and accessibility in Web technologies, and ICT for Development (ICT4D) projects and activities.
PhD in Theoretical Physics from the Barcelona University; he has specialized in information and communication technologies, participating in European research projects in the last 10 years. Current research focus is how information technology can transform medicine.
